This worked for me too because the standard launcher just will not load on my Mac any more (I get a hang every time).
I have some follow up questions.
1. Because we're now using a Beta version does this mean we're more likely to get crashes? I'm assuming that this isn't an entirely stable version as yet, right?
2. If it does crash, and we lose in game stuff (ships etc) as a result, what happens?
3. How do you get the launcher window to quit when the game launches (like the old client did)?
4. Given that I am having to sort out all my settings again (I'm a bit annoyed about this) is there a way of exporting the Eve settings file so that if, at some point in the future, I have to swap launchers again I don't have to repeat this exercise? .
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate.
When I die, all those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

The new beta launcher has a feature for importing client settings, at least in windows. It is also recommended to backup your client settings folder, the beta launcher might help you know the name of the folder (I used beta launcher to rename folder, then did a search). I don't know the folder structure on mac, but if you track it down, you should easily be able to backup and restore, etc. Thanks. That's quite helpful.
Now can someone direct me to where the client settings folder is on a Mac I wonder...?
